INFORMATION ON GLUTEN-FREE PRODUCTS

FOOD ADDITIVES

Safe food additives and ingredients is an area that has always seemed to be a controversial topic. The good news is that with the new labeling law labels it will be easier to read and the ingredients identified. The actual ingredients used will not change. After reviewing the scientific literature and speaking with many of the experts in the grains and the food industry we consider that many ingredients are in fact safe.  The confusion about which ingredients are safe was mostly due to lack of good scientific evidence. The consensus is that most of the ingredients that individuals with celiac disease were encouraged to avoid are actually safe. Corn is the basis for colorings and flavorings. Other ingredients that can be considered safe are maltodextrin, MSG, spices (not seasoning that remains questionable), and mono and diglycerides. However it is remains important to check the labels for malt, modified food starch and soy sauce. So pop the top on that BBQ sauce and enjoy the rest of the summer.

All Ballpark products are gluten free, including the entire line of Ballpark Grillmaster products.

In response to your request, we cannot guarantee that any of our products are completely gluten-free.  We have certain products such as Goya Rice Flour, Goya Corn Meal, and Goya Masarepa, whose ingredients are gluten free; however, they could be exposed to wheat products during packaging.  These specific products are packaged on alternate days, and wheat flour is also packaged at these plants.  The exposure to wheat may be very minimal.  As per your request, attached you will find our list of products whose ingredients are gluten-free
